Jardin des Plantes

Jardin des Plantes is a Botanical Garden.
Ordered by the French king Louis XIII in 1635, the Jardin des Plantes was used as a medicinal herb garden.

It is recommended that you visit the Jardin des Plantes, at least, once as it is a great place to relax and have a walk. Jardin des Plantes is also an amazing park to go jogging.

Inside Jardin des Plantes you will discover several kinds of gardens:

  • French Garden part
  • English Garden part
  • Labyrinth –  the Maze  
  • Mountain botanical garden (Alpine Garden)
  • Vegetable garden – Potager (the kitchen garden)
  • Floral garden
  • Insects' garden (butterflies and bees)

Once inside the Jardin des Plantes you can also visit the Natural History Museum and the Zoo.
